Heather Newman
I am a certified family nurse practitioner. I received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Texas at Austin. Go horns! After several years working as a nurse, I went on to get my masters degree in nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
With a strong family history of obesity and heart disease, I have a personal desire to help people get healthy and live their lives to the fullest. I love to exercise. It is truly therapy to me, providing not only a way to maintain my weight but find balance in my life. I have four active children and exercise gives me time for just me. I am also a registered yoga teacher and certified group fitness instructor and teach classes several days a week.
The thing I enjoy most about working at PWC is seeing the transformations that occur in patients as they achieve their weight loss goals. The changes are more than just the physical ones and the ability to fit into clothes they have long ago pushed to the back of their closet. The greatest sense of satisfaction comes from the emotional and mental changes that weight loss brings to people I work with. I see them gain confidence, self esteem, discover new hobbies, and do things they never thought possible. I love the variety of my job. I wear many hats; coach, mentor, motivator, counselor, accountability partner, and teacher. I can’t wait to meet you and get busy helping you change your life.
